Sustainable Development and Rural Tourism in Depopulated Areas

The high degree of depopulation in certain areas Spain is a serious threat to the country, and aggravated by ongoing loss population from those areas. Rural tourism one activities that can help prevent this depopulation. However, successfully promote such tourism, we must consider elements have greatest influence on tourists when they choose location over another, or accommodation another. Extensive data been collected 1658 valid surveys most depopulated Spain. Several multivariate techniques were then applied data, including Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Multiple Classification (MCA). Factors obtained identified both different motivations tourists, variables identify province based its image. An analysis was made how thus formation image take away visit. Tourists are strongly motivated natural landscapes, monuments, events cultural interest, i.e., attractions rather than social ones, cognitive has new principal findings research future many these depends promoting their beautiful landscapes heritage, as well developing improving themselves so slowed down even reversed, benefit local population. This would also regional authorities establishments linked rural area, increasing profits raising level employment province.
